The Governor’s Games is a school fitness competition where students qualify to represent their school at the school, parish, and state levels. Events measure strength, speed, agility, and flexibility while celebrating physical fitness and sportsmanship.
💪 Joshua Dean and Braxten Mikesell led the boys with exceptional all-around performances. Joshua posted the fastest sprint time and longest jump, while Braxten showed impressive upper-body strength and consistency across every event.
🏃♀️ Daisy Johnston and Nhala Moore shone on the girls’ side. Daisy dominated the strength events with the most curl-ups and pull-ups, plus outstanding flexibility. Nhala showcased elite athleticism with top marks in speed, jumping, and overall power.

We are so thankful for these athletes taking the time to encourage our students and share the love of reading! Our team has been on campus all day today preparing for our return. There are still a few icy areas around the school, and with the continued freezing temperatures, some spots may not fully melt before Monday. We’ve done our best to clear as much as possible.
For safety reasons, walkers should not arrive on campus before 7:45 on Monday morning to ensure proper supervision.
A huge thank you to the BPSB Maintenance Team for assisting with cleanup efforts, and to Mr. Rowland for getting in on the action as well. We are also incredibly grateful to Louisiana Landworks for volunteering their equipment and personnel to help clear the bus ramp and other areas around campus.
We can’t wait to see everyone, get back into our routines, and get back to learning together! 💙📚
